Hi :)
Well, I *might* be getting my license, and need to buy car insurance. No, my parents won't support me on this; it's out of their budget, and they don't want me driving. But my road test is in a few days, and after that, I want to be able to drive on my own, and be covered.
In general, what are the prices of car insurance? Is it affordable for teenagers? I don't have a steady job, but work in the summer, and hope that this can cover the expenses.

I'm going to get a car soon but I want to be able to pay for my own car insurance. Take some bills off my parents backs. Which insurance company wouldn't screw me over?

I am trying to calculate how much money I will need to make to live on my own after college. I am 20 and still have 2 more years to go. I have saved about 4000 through my teen years of my own money and I work during the semesters for personal money.

So far my car and health insurance are under my parents. Also college is being paid through savings. I'm trying to come up with how much I will need to make a month to live and budget that ahead of time on my own. Here is my list of expenses, what else is there? can you add to the list?

Car insurance
Car maintainence
Gas
Rent (apartment)
Health insurance
Bills
Tax
Personal spending
Any other insurance?

Anything else?
I'm guessing you need to make at least 2000 to 3000 a month to have reasonable spending money after paying your mandatory expenses. However I may have missed more on that list.
